I should really re-title the link to this page "re-readings": i haven't read anything new in a long time.
For the past few years now i've been pestering people to read Fernando Pessoa's "Book of Disquiet"; a book i'm continuously re-reading. It's no surprise i pulled from it for the block quote on the home page.
Get it, read it.
I've heard the Richard Zenith translation is the best, but since it's the only one i've read and not knowing Portugese, well, i just wouldn't know.
This is a little site with some interesting approaches to the poetry of Fernando Pessoa called "Pessoa's trunk".
Be sure to also visit the site of which it is a subset.
It's a ponderous title but it's a good read. There's a lot here if you're at all interested in language in general. His writing reminds me of Michel Foucault . . . maybe not quite as dense.
